The business
TGS combines gas transport with processing that produces marketable liquids. Transportation earns remuneration for infrastructure and service; processing depends on industrial products. Telcosur adds connectivity services. The activities share infrastructure relationships but have different revenue sources.
Operates gas pipelines, processes gas and liquids, and provides telecommunications through Telcosur.
TGS combines gas transportation with liquids processing and marketing. It also participates in telecommunications through Telcosur. This mix joins infrastructure services with industrial and connectivity activities.
TGS combines gas transport with processing that produces marketable liquids. Transportation earns remuneration for infrastructure and service; processing depends on industrial products. Telcosur adds connectivity services. The activities share infrastructure relationships but have different revenue sources.
What shapes business performance
Transport tariffs should be separated from liquids prices and margins. Gas availability, processing efficiency and logistics shape industrial production; maintenance and contracted capacity shape the pipeline business. Connectivity services depend on contracts and continuity, with a different cycle from hydrocarbons.
TGS transports gas through contracted capacity and services subject to availability. Its infrastructure connects gas supply with consumption and distribution points; transportation contracts have different economics from the group’s liquids sales.
Who it serves
Users and businesses needing continuous access to energy through networks.
How the business works
The service connects supply and demand through infrastructure. Remuneration and investment obligations depend on the regulatory framework and applicable contracts.
TGS processes gas to recover and market liquids alongside its gas transportation business. This adds industrial and commercial activity: feedstock availability, product recovery and selling prices influence performance.
Who it serves
Industries and distributors using fuels, chemicals or processed inputs.
How the business works
Industrial processing converts raw material into marketable products. Margins depend on selling prices relative to feedstock, energy and processing costs.
Telcosur carries out TGS’s telecommunications activity. Connectivity adds information transmission services to a group centred on gas infrastructure; communications customers create distinct requirements for capacity, continuity and support.
Who it serves
Customers needing network access, connectivity and communications transmission.
How the business works
Infrastructure supports access and communication services. Recurring revenue must support customer service, network operation and technology investment.
The business in practice
Selected products, companies and assets from corporate publications.
Reserved capacity and transported gas
TGS distinguishes firm transportation, with a monthly charge for reserved capacity, from interruptible service, charged by volume and subject to availability. Customers include distributors, generators, industrial users and producers; each service connects revenue to a different obligation.
In Bahía Blanca, General Cerri extracts ethane, propane, butane and natural gasoline from gas. Galván completes the chain with storage and dispatch for domestic and export markets. The products serve fuel and industrial uses.
The Vaca Muerta gathering pipeline brings gas from producing areas to Tratayén, where it is conditioned for transportation systems. Gathering, treatment and compression serve producers and form a separate stage from extraction at the field.
Telcosur uses fibre and radio networks in southern and western Argentina. Its Vaca Muerta infrastructure connects producers and oilfield-service businesses. This activity carries information, although it shares locations with the gas business.
